Hiking the Old Mission Dam

Yesterday we went hiking to the Old Mission Dam built by the Friars and Indians 200 years ago.

We read the sign warning about being aware of unexploded WWII era ordnance.

But we should have read this warning sign more closely...

As we found this giant rattler across our path! 

Owly

This was the scene at our house tonight.  Our trusty dog Joe alerted us to a couple owls on the telephone pole.  A few minutes later, there was a total of FIVE owls between the neighbors dead pine tree and the telephone pole at the back of our yard!

Urban Bookworms
