New York City!

We had so much fun on our quick trip to NYC! We took the Amtrak train up on Friday night (which was very nice) and the Bolt Bus back on Sunday (not as nice, but still not bad, and cheaper). As you can see from the pictures, we saw as much as possible in our two days. It was rainy on Saturday, but Sunday was a gorgeous day.

We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, where they have THE Starry Night!
Ellis Island from the ferry, it was rainy and foggy on Saturday.
The main hall at Ellis Island, where most of the inspection and immigration procedures happened.
hmmmm, Statue of Liberty??

on the subway! We took the subway about 5 times over the two days. We also took cabs.
Chinatown!! We had the best, most authentic Chinese food, just like from my favorite place in Shanghai :)

Riviera Maya Part 1

Here are some highlights from our trip!
This is cenote (se-no-tae) that we swam in. It's a fresh water cave where Mexico gets it's drinking water. There are stalactites hanging from the ceiling and stalagmites growing up under the water.
After we visited Tulum, we went rapelling down a tower. It was very scary!!!
Also, after we visited Tulum, we went zip-lining. That was very fun! There were three runs that we went down.

Riviera Maya Part 2

Some Mayan ruins at Tulum, which is right on the coast.
A cenote (se-no-tae), which is a natural fresh-water cave that they get their drinking water from. We swam in it. Extremely clear water! And those are tree vines hanging down.
Chichen Itza! It was very hot this day...and as you can see, there's not a whole lot of shade.
This is a Mayan building (church or nunnery). I just think it's cool because of all the carvings.

Nora's cong rolled under the tree, so of course she spent the next 20 minutes trying to retrieve it. :)
