Squid Fishing
Record amounts of giant Humboldt Squid were being caught off the coast of California, so Ryan went squid fishing with our friends Tommy and Jami.
In true Upper Midwest Style: long underwear, multiple layers of clothes, hunting boots, etc. Some of the native San Diegan's gave us funny looks but when the sun went down and the temperatures dropped to below 20 degrees, we were able to keep fishing while the locals had to retreat to the heated cabin...
I caught the first squid of the night. Sara and I sauteed part of it the other night and it was best calamari we've ever had!
Tommy caught two more. Our boat caught a total of six. Two nights before, the same boat hauled in over 700 squid. Over the past five days, the school of giant squid have left California. However, when you are out in April sport fishing should be great!

Last day of break!
