LAKE SUPERIOR ZOO

We went to the Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth today.  It was NICE, well visited but not crowded, we walked right up to everything we wanted to see.  They had all the standard zoo animals, including tigers, lions, bears, kangaroos, etc...Here's Ian checking out the goats and sheep in the barnyard section.

It was hot and sunny today, so the kids and I headed to the beach!  Unfortunately the weather wasn't like this when Mel, David, and Calvin were here....so sad.  But, we did have fun.  Today Ian tried out the new life jacket I got him and it was AWESOME!  It's called a Learn to Swim life jacket and it's perfect for playing in the lake or pool.  We got ours from L&M, but they also have them at Target.  It was easy for him to move around and it kept him in a good position in the water.

Sandbox

We got Calvin a new-to-us sandbox.  He's not quite ready to sit in it and play, but he likes to stand next to it.  :)  We'll get there.

This week

The weather has been beautiful all week!  Warm and dry.  We took the boat out on Trout Lake on Tuesday and tried out one of our inner tubes.  Eliza had fun taking a nice slow ride behind the boat.  We left the house at 9:54am and arrived at the boat landing at 9:58am! 

 Ian was tired, so he just laid down and took a nap!  I couldn't believe it, so we took a picture and then made a shade for him.
